    * Brown Rice, long grain, 1 1/2 cup
    * Butter, unsalted, 1 tbsp
    * Turmeric, ground, pinch
    * Saffron, pinch
    * Salt, 1/2 tsp
    * Hot Water, 2 1/4 cups
    * Onions, 1 cup, chopped
    * Vegetable Oil, 2 tbsp
    * Ginger Root, grated, 2 tsp
    * Ground Cumin seed, 1 1/2 tsp
    * Ground Coriander seed, 1 1/2 tsp
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1/2 tsp
    * Cayenne, pinch (to taste)
    * Water, 1/2 cup
    * Carrots, 1 medium, diced
    * Cauliflower florets, 2 cups
    * 1 Tomato, diced
    * Peas, frozen, 1/2 cup
    * Raisins, 1/3 cup (not packed)
    * Chick Peas, 3/4 cup (canned okay)
    * Additional salt to taste
    * Toasted cashews or almonds as garnish, if desired
