    1 large brown onion, halved, sliced
    1 tbs garam masala
    1 tsp turmeric
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    2 carrots, peeled, thickly diagonally sliced
    2 cup vegetable stock
    500g butternut pumpkin, peeled, deseeded, cut into large chunks
    2 cups mixed vegetables ie peas, cauliflower, broccoli
    1 300g can chickpeas, rinsed, drained
    1 400g can coconut cream
    1/2 tsp salt
    4 green cardamom pods, crushed
    8 black peppercorns, crushed
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    1 tbs finely grated fresh ginger
    2 tsp coriander seeds
    1 tsp chilli powder
    1 tbs smoked paprika
