Gumbo Soup With Cabbage

Ingredients

    For crock pot cooking:
    If you like your cabbage el dente (slightly crunchy) cook your chicken breast first with tomatoes, broth, salsa. Then add the cabbage.

    Otherwise throw everything in crock pot for 4 hours, except for the okra.

    For stove top, cook chicken breast first. Add cabbage last, won't take long to cook.

    1 head of cabbage
    1-2 cans of Fire Roasted Tomatoes
    1-2 cans of low sodium chicken broth
    2 de-boned chicken breast
    1 C of Salsa or to taste

    Cook until the cabbage and chicken are tender

    OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:
    After everything is cooked, pour frozen bag of okra
    Do not stir (to avoid the okra from getting slimy)
    Let the heat from the other cooked ingredients cook the okra.
    Okra is placed on top of all other cooked ingredients, place lid on

    Optional ingredients instead of chicken or to add with chicken:
    2 cups of de-veined shrimp (optional if you want the gumbo effect)
    Hillshire Turkey Sausage slice it in small bits
