  • 4 large Comice pears (about 3 pounds), peeled, cored, and cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch-thick slices
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 large egg
