  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Dressing:
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons extravirgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • Salad:
  • 5 cups torn Boston lettuce (about 2 small heads)
  • 4 cups trimmed watercress (about 2 bunches)
  • 2 Fuji apples, cored and cut into 1/4-inch-thick wedges
  • 1/2 thinly sliced peeled avocado
