New England Clam Chowder Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 can chopped clams - (6 1/2 ounce ea) with juices
  • 2 1/2 c. finely-minced peeled potatoes
  • 1 c. minced onions
  • 1 tsp instant chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dry thyme
  • 1/8 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. 1% lowfat milk
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c. evaporated skim lowfat milk
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke
  •     Crushed pink peppercorns (optional)
  •     Snipped fresh thyme (optional)
