  • 1 lb fresh asparagus rinsed well, and
  •     cut into 1/2" pcs
  • 1 lrg onion diced
  • 1/4 c. butter - (1/2 stick)
  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. half-and-half or possibly Milnot
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh chives divided
