For the salad

  • 1 head of broccoli (about 350g/12oz), cut into bite-sized florets

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into rounds

  • 1 small goats’ cheese log, cut into rounds

  • 150g/5oz rashers of unsmoked bacon, roughly chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

  • 50g/2oz pine nuts
