- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 head napa cabbage, thinly sliced
- 6 scallions, sliced
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil or to taste
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- Optional:
- 1 small can pineapple tidbits, and/or mandarin oranges, drained
- and/or 2 cups diced cooked chicken to make a main dish salad.
