Ingredients

For the candied bacon

  • 100 g light brown brown sugar
  • 3 rashers thin streaky bacon
For the doughnuts

  • 1 to 2 litres sunflower oil, for deep frying
  • 250 g flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • tsp ground cinnamon
  • tsp salt
  • tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 115 g granulated sugar
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • 30 g butter, melted
  • 125 g crme frache
For the glaze

  • 300 g icing sugar, (use a little less if you want a thinner glaze)
  • 60 ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
