Coconut samosas with warm chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream

Ingredients

For the filling

  • 300 g grated fresh coconut
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 4 green cardamom pods
  • 3 cassia leaves
  • 8 cm piece cassia bark
  • 1 tbsp sultanas
  • 1 tbsp crushed pistachio nuts
For the dough

  • 250 g plain flour
  • sprinkle sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
For the chocolate sauce

  • 150 ml single cream
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • knob butter
  • 35 ml amaretto (almond liqueur)
For the coulis

  • 15 strawberries
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • squeeze lime juice
  • vegetable oil, for deep-frying
  • vanilla ice cream, to serve
