Cranberry-apple Dumplings

  • 1 tablespoon  cornstarch
  • 1 cup  cranberry juice
  • 1 cup  all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons  granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/3 cup  butter
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons  cold water
  •   Milk
  • 2 tablespoons  coarse sugar
