  • 1 tablespoon  water
  • 1/4 cup  firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  apple pie or pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 tablespoons  cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 3 teaspoons  fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons  unsalted butter, cut up (no substitutes)
  • 2 tablespoons  heavy or whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon  granulated sugar
