  • 6 teaspoons  superfine sugar for coating baking dishes

  • 1   envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons  all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons  instant espresso powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 1-1/2 cups  low-fat (1%) milk
  • 1   egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons  chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon  vanilla
  • 6   egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon  cream of tartar
  • 1 package  (10 ounces) frozen raspberries in syrup, thawed
  •   Powdered sugar, for dusting
