- Nana Country banana bread

- banana bread AND ADDED ADDITIONAL
- WHOLESOMENESS! :) (Hope you all like it,
- you may use more nuts if desired..I was running low on
- them.)

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup (or more) chopped nuts of your choice

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon,and salt.
- In a separate bowl:
- cream together butter and brown sugar.
- Add apple sauce and blend well.
- Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended.
- Fold in chopped nuts and raisins
- Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
- Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
