- 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup plus 3 tablespoons butter or margarine or shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup quinoa flakes or gluten-free oatmeal
- powdered sugar, optional
