Ingredients

  1. 6 slices bacon, cut crosswise into thin strips
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 1 cup lentils
  4. 2 teaspoons salt
  5. 1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crumbled
  7. 1 bay leaf
  8. 9 cups water
  9. 1 small head cauliflower (about 1 1/2 pounds), cut into small florets (about 1 quart)
  10. 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
