  5. 1 onion, chopped
  6. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 2 cups arborio rice
  8. 1 cup dry white wine
  9. 1/4 teaspoon salt, more if needed
  10. 3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or scallion tops
  11. 1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  12. 1 cup drained chopped clams
