- 250 g (2 cups) plain flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) sunflower oil
- FOR THE FILLING:
- 1 soft bread roll
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 150 g diced bacon
- 2 onions, finely diced
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 400 g mixed minced meat such as pork and chicken or beef and lamb
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon each of fresh basil, oregano and thyme leaves
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- 200 g (1 1/3 cups) pickled red capsicum strips
- 1 egg yolk and 2 tablespoons milk, for brushing
