Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon clove
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups white raisins or 2 cups light raisins(can use dark if prefer)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (16 ounce) jars applesauce

    • Frosting

    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or 1 tablespoon milk
    • 1 lb confectioners' sugar
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 3 -4 tablespoons bourbon(to taste)
