THE FILLING
- 1 lb lean ground beef

- 1 tablespoon chili powder(or more, to taste)
- 1 -2 tablespoon recaito
- 1 teaspoon salt or 1 teaspoon salt substitute
- 2 ounces onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 dash garlic powder
- 3 ounces beef stock
- 1 ounce white vinegar
GRAVY FOR SINKING
- 3 tablespoons bacon fat(or cooking oil of choice)
- 1 onion, roughly chopped
- 3 -4 ounces mushrooms, roughly chopped
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups beef stock
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Kitchen Bouquet(or Marmite, or other prepared seasoning/browning sauce)
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) canscrushedtomatoes or 1 (14 1/2 ounce) cans crushed diced tomatoes, , drained
- 2 teaspoons chili powder(or more, to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 dash white pepper
- 3 tablespoons prepared jalapeno relish(, or other hot pickle or pepper relish)
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped(or more, to taste)
- 6 ounces cider vinegar
- 3 ounces molasses
