Ingredients
- 2 lbs. small fresh Brussels sprouts, cut in half lengthwise, and tough outer leaves removed
- 4 strips smoked bacon, diced
- 1 large shallot, minced (about 2 tbsp.)
- 1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream (do not substitute milk or half & half, as it will curdle when boiled)
- Zest of 1 lemon, minced
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and fresh ground pepper
- Bread crumbs (below)
- Butter
- *1 cup fresh breadcrumbs mixed with:
- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh ground pepper
- 2 tbsp. chilled unsalted butter ? cut into small pieces
