- 8 oz Lasagna noodles
- Sea salt to taste
- Meat Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 6 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/4 lb bacon (or pancetta), cut up
- 1 1/2 lbs raw beef, minced (chopped)
- OR you may decrease the beef to 1/2 lb., and add 1/2 lb minced (chopped) pork plus 1/2 lb hot Italian sausage (crumbled)
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (use paprika is you want it mild)
- Sea salt, to taste
- 1 large can (28 oz.) crushed Italian tomatoes
- 1 glass of white wine
- 1 cup of beef broth (or vegetable stock)
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup chopped basil
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Bechamel Cheese Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 5 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Edam cheese
- Sea salt to taste
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Edam cheese
- Garnish:
- 1/4 lb bacon (or pancetta), chopped and cooked
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 2 hard cooked eggs
- Grated parmesan cheese
