Pasta W/ Tomato & Almond Pesto

Ingredients

    1/4 c. slivered almonds, toasted
    12 oz. cherry or grape tomatoes (2 1/2 c.)
    1/2 c. packed fresh basil leaves
    1 med. garlic clove, minced or pressed (1 t.)
    1 small pepperoncini (hot pepper in vinegar),
    stemmed, seeded, & minced (1/2 t.)
    Table salt
    Pinch red pepper flakes (opt.)
    1/3 c. extra-virgin olive oil
    1# pasta, preferably linguine or spaghetti
    1 oz (1/2 c.,) Parmesan cheese, grated
    Add'l. up to 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated, for serving
