Pasta Fagioli (pasta And Beans) Soup

Ingredients

    1 tablespoon of olive oil
    1 small onion, minced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 cup baby carrots, each cut in two
    2 cups of water
    4 cups of vegetable broth (low sodium)
    1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained and rinsed (or cannellini beans if you like)
    1 cup dry elbow macaroni (or other small pasta like ditalini)
    2 tablespoons tomato sauce
    2 tablespoons tomato paste
    1 tablespoon basil
    1 teaspoon oregano
    1 teaspoon parsley flakes
    2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
    1 bay leaf
    1 teaspoon paprika
    Salt and pepper to taste
