Filling: 1-1/4 lb (625 g) sour cherries, pitted 1/2 cup (125 mL) ground almonds 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar 1/4 cup (50 mL) fresh bread crumbs 1/4 tsp (1 mL) cinnamon Pastry: 8 sheets phyllo dough 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter, melted 1/4 cup (50 mL) granulated sugar 1/4 cup (50 mL) ground almonds

Description

Sour Cherries Are Easy To Pit. Just Squeeze The Pits Out With Your Fingers. If You Use Frozen, Pitted Cherries, Drain Them Well After Defrosting.
