  • 1 Tbsp.  finely chopped crystallized ginger
  • 1   egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup  whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup  mild-flavored molasses
  • 1   egg white, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp.  water
  •   Coarse sugar (optional)
