  • 2 Rome apples, halved crosswise and cored
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 small sweet potato
  • 1 cup peeled and finely chopped acorn or butternut squash
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • Whipped cream, for serving
