Spam Vegetable Tempura

Ingredients

 

Oil as needed, for frying

1 (12 oz) can Spam, thinly sliced

12 oz. green beans, thinly sliced, slivers

3 medium carrots, peeled, thinly sliced, slivers

3 stalks green onion, 1 ½-inch pieces

 

Batter:

1 c. all purpose flour

1 c. “cold” water

1 large egg

½ tsp. salt

Tempura Dashi:

1 c. dashi stock

¼ c. soy sauce

¼ c. mirin

½ TB sugar

1 TB daikon (turnip) grated
