South Philly Cheesesteak Recipe

Ingredients

  • For roasted Steak
  • 4-5lbs beef roast(top or bottom sirloin or round or better)
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cans chipotle peppers in adobo
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1T louisiana hot sauce
  • juice from 2 limes
  • 1T Cajun blend seasoning, divided
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 16oz pepperjack cheese, shredded
  • hard rolls for serving
  • Mushroom mustard Sauce
  • 16oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion, sliced thin
  • 2 bell peppers sliced in rings or strips
  • 2T butter
  • 1T adobo sauce OR 2t ground chipotle powder(this is what I used)
  • 1/4 cup Creole or Cajun style mustard
  • 1t cajun seasoning blend
  • fresh ground black pepper

Description

A Spicy Southern Twist On The Traditional Philly Cheesesteak. The Steak For This Can Be Slow Braised In The Oven, Or On The Grill.
