  5. 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, more to taste
  6. Cooking oil, for frying
  7. 1/2 cup whole milk
  8. 1 egg, beaten to mix
  9. 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  10. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  11. 1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  12. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  13. 1 1/4 pounds large shrimp, shelled
  14. 1/3 cup flour
  15. 2 cups shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce
  16. 1 tomato, cut into thin slices
