Chicken and Leek Yakitori

Ingredients

  1. 1/3 cup sake
  2. 1/4 cup mirin
  3. 3 tablespoons yellow miso paste
  4. 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  5. 2 tablespoons sugar
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger
  7. 2 pounds boneless chicken thighsskinned, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  8. 1 small green bell pepper, cut into 3/4-inch squares
  9. 1 leek, white part only, halved lengthwise and cut crosswise into 3/4-inch pieces
