1 tablespoon Canola oil
1/3 cup Water or low-sodium vegetable stock
Salt (optional)
Freshly ground black pepper
1 pound Fresh asparagus, tough ends discarded
1 teaspoon Lemon juice or balsamic vinegar or cider vinegar
