Ingredients
- 2-1/2 lbs boneless pork spareribs, cut into small bite-size peices
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 chicken or pork bouillon cube
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 white onion, cut in quarters
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1- 30oz Jar nopales, drained and rinsed well
- For red sauce:
- 2 roma tomatoes
- 2 Guajillo Chiles, stems and seeds removed
- 1 Chile Ancho, stems and seeds removed
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken or pork boiullon powder- optional
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 cup hot water- mix throughly
- For green sauce:
- 6 tomatillos, husks removed and rinsed well
- 1/3 cup cilantro
- 1 jalapeno pepper (stem removed, Ieft seeds in but you may remove for less heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken or pork boiullon powder- optional
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 cup hot water- mix throughly
Description
I Was Originally Planning On Making Nopales (cactus) In A Red Sauce With Pork, But My Husband Wanted Green Sauce. So I Made A Batch Of Both. This Is One Of My Favorite Dishes To Make. Serve With Rice, Tortillas Or Tostadas.
