Australian Style Hamburger Recipe


  • 750g lean beef mince (like topside)
  • 1 large brown onion, grated
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbspn worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tspn Tabasco sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley
  • 1 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • salt & ground black pepper, to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns, halved and lightly toasted on inner half
  • 6 slices good quality cheddar cheese
  • 3 medium, ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 6 slices pickled beetroot
  • 6 slices pineapple
  • 6 iceberg lettuce leaves, shredded
  • tomato sauce for serving
