Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar (I used granulated fructose)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. vegetable oil (I use a combination of 1 stick melted butter and 1/2 c. canola oil)
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves, optional
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg, optional
- 3 lbs. apples, cored and sliced (I also peeled them - see note at end of instructions)
Description
I Had Left-over Apples From Thanksgiving Pie Making And Really Wanted To Make Apple Dumplings, But Didn't Really Want The Hassle Of Making Pastry. This Cake Fit The Bill Quite Nicely. I Had Tart Apples So My Cake Wasn't Overly Sweet. You Might Find It
