Almost Classic Pork Fried Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 TB peanut oil or olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt,divided
  • 1/2 lb boneless pork loin chop,cut in 1/2" pieces
  • 1/2 c chopped carrot
  • 1/2 c chopped celery
  • 1/2 c chopped green onion bottoms(white part )
  • 2 TB minced garlic
  • 2 TB minced,peeled,fresh ginger
  • 3 c cooked ,chilled long-grain brown rice (or white,brown is healthier)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 TB mirin or dry sherry
  • 3 TB lower-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsap dark sesame oil
  • 1/4 tso fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 c fresh bean sprouts
  • 1/4 c cannes,diced water chestnuts,rinsed and drained
  • 1 c chopped green onion tops
