Ingredients
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup apple cider or juice (or another 1/2 cup milk)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and cut into small dice
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/3 cup moist, plump raisins
- Caramel: Use your favorite store bought caramel or your favorite homemade caramel. I prefer to buy mine in the jar.
