• 1/3 cup dried cherries (I used cherry flavored dried cranberries)
• 1/3 cup dark rum
• 1/4 cup butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
• 2 1/3 cups flour
• 2 tsp ground ginger
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 3 cups peeled and diced apples (2 large)
• 1 cup sour cream
• Topping:
• 1/3 cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp ground ginger
• 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, coarsley chopped
