- 2 lbs chuck roast, cut in 1 in cubes
- 2 T butter
- 2 onions, cut in wedges
- 2 T flour
- 1/4 t salt
- 2 C water
- 2 T apple juice
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 whole allspice
- 2 whole cloves
- 2 med carrots sliced
- 2 med apples, peeled and cut in chunks
