Pepper Beef Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2lbs beef steak(sirloin or better), sliced against the grain in thin strips
  • 2T corn starch
  • 3T peanut or olive oil
  • 1/4-1t red pepper flakes
  • 3 bell peppers, sliced in strips
  • 4 green onions, sliced in 1/2 inch pieces
  • 2 cups sugar snap peas(or sub broccoli florets or asparagus pieces)
  • For pepper Marinade
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2T worcestershire sauce(we don't like soy sauce, but you can can sub 1/2 and 1/2, if desired)
  • 2T rice vinegar
  • 2T sake, Shaoxing, or dry white wine
  • 1t fresh ground pepper
  • kosher or sea salt
  • For Pepper Sauce
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce or ketchup(I used Mexican spicy tomato sauce)
  • 2T oyster sauce
  • 2T honey
  • 2T Chinese chili sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • dash of sesame oil(optional)
  • 2t fresh ground pepper
  • rice or soba noodles, cooked
