  • 2 (14-ounce) cans Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

For the toppings:

  • Grated sharp Cheddar
  • Sour cream
  • Sliced green onions (white and green parts)
  • Corn chips
