Ingredients

TART SHELL

  1. 3 tablespoons almond paste
  2. 1/4 cup sugar
  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  4. 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  5. All-purpose flour
  6. 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  7. 1/3 cup milk

FILLING

  1. 1 1/3 cups milk
  2. 1/4 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped
  3. 1/3 cup sugar
  4. 2 large eggs
  5. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  6. 2 3/4 pounds apricots, pitted and quartered
  7. 3/4 pound blueberries (2 cups)
