  4. 1 large white onion, finely chopped
  5. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  6. 1/2 cup dry white wine
  7. 2 cups clam juice
  8. 1 cup water
  9. 4 thyme sprigs
  10. 1 cup heavy cream
  11. 2 dozen freshly shucked oysters, oyster liquor reserved
  12. Pinch of cayenne pepper
  13. 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
