- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring (four 1/4-ounce bottles)
- 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Confectioners' sugar, for serving
PECAN PRALINE
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup pecan halves, toasted
