Apple 'Flag' Tart

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup cold water

    • 5 large Golden Delicious, Fuji, or Jonagold apples (about 2 1/2 pounds)
    • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen (not thawed) cranberries
    • 1 cup sugar

    For glaze
    • 1/4 cup red-currant jelly
    • 1/4 cup apple jelly
