  • 3/4 teaspoon unflavored gelatin

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 ruby red grapefruits or white grapefruits
  • 2 large unpeeled Asian pears
  • Fresh fennel fronds (optional; for garnish)
