Ingredients

  • 500g plain flour
  • 1 tsp mixed spice (or garam masala)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 40g butter
  • ½ cup castor sugar
  • ¾ cup in total of currants, sultanas and peel
  • 2x8g sachets of instant dried yeast
  • ½ cup lukewarm water
  • ½ cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 egg white.
