Ingredients

  • 1 kilo chuck steak
  • 1 - 1& 1/2 kilos of pickling onions (very small), peeled
  • several cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 1 cup of thick tomato puree
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • Salt, pepper
  • finely chopped marjoram, oregano, rosemary leaf tips, parsley

Description

Stifado - Simple Dish. Traditional Greek Beef Dish Cooked In A Heavy, Lidded Caserole On The Stove, In The Oven Or In A Slow Cooker. After Prolonged Cooking, The Meat Is Full Of Flavour, Tender And Falling Apart, And The Sauce Is Almost Like Jam.
