- 1 pinch saffron
- 5 pods cardamom
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 (2.5cm) cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 450g (1lb) basmati rice
- 1 litre chicken stock
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
